4 Angels Creations
Everything I create is made from clay; inspiration for my work are the Abrahamic Faiths: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. The clay is slab-rolled and impressed with antique lace, handmade doilies and tatting, fringe, tablecloths, runners or other handmade impressionable fabrics that have been given me by my customers. By using the handiwork of other women – in most cases, great grandmothers, grandmothers, aunts, mothers and friends – I create art that is one of a kind and that carries prayer, love and positive energy, both from them and from me. Prayers and energy are embedded in each piece through the hand-building and firing processes.
I look for the sacred in the everyday, such as leaves, flowers and feathers; color, shape, texture all of these, as well as the patterns in the handiwork I use inspire how I choose to glaze my work.
Each angel, cross, guardian or other piece of sacred art is hand-cut and -built, bisque-fired, hand-glazed and then hard-fired in a gas reduction kiln to approximately 2400 degrees (Cone 10). This handmade process, along with the gas-reduction firing, ensures the individuality of each piece. All of my artwork is one-of-a-kind, prayerfully handmade with love and with the intention that the end-receiver will be open to accept the healing, harmony, peace and ministering spirit that is infused in each.
