Mary Meuwissen explores color and texture with playful freshness and spontaneity. Intrigued by nature and realistic settings, Mary breaks down what she sees to their most simple forms and shapes to create an element of wonder and surprise. Her work is abstract and full of color.
Mary works with oil and cold wax on wood panels and paper. The process of working layers: adding textures, shapes and little surprises along the way encourage the viewer to experience their own sense of place in each painting.
