I look for simple beauty. The color of the day, the tilt of a head, a red shirt in partial sun, or an outstretched arm might tip me off. Then I reduce or distill the noise of the setting so what’s left is the substance of deliciousness: vibrant light, luminous color, and everyday connections between people and their environment.
